AD/TBM 700/23 Amdt 1 - Fuel Tank Air Vent Valves (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/TBM 700/23 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Fuel Tank Air Vent Valves 9/2002

Applicability: 1. TBM 700 aircraft as detailed by serial number in EADS Socata Service Bulletin (SB) Number SB 70-090 and the aircraft records do not indicate the accomplishment instructions of SB 70-090 have been carried out; and 2. TBM 700 aircraft that have had a part number (P/N) Z00.N6007707265 air vent valve installed since February 1996 and the vendor part number of the installed valve is unknown. Requirement: 1. Blowing Test: Carry out a blowing test of the fuel tank air vent valves in accordance with EADS Socata Service Bulletin (SB) Number SB 70-090. 2. Valve Part Number Check: Remove the fuel tank air vent valves and check the vendor part number of the valves in accordance with EADS Socata Service Bulletin (SB) Number SB 70-090. 3. Valve Replacement: Replace fuel tank air vent valves detailing vendor part number "INTERTECHNIQUE P/N 9708B-1 Amdt. A" in accordance with EADS Socata Service Bulletin (SB) Number SB 70-090.
