COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Aerospatiale (Socata) TBM 700 Series Aeroplanes
AD/TBM 700/30 On-Board Servicing Power Receptacle 9/2003
Applicability: TBM 700B and 700C aeroplanes with serial numbers 205 and 222 through 263 inclusive.
Requirement: 1. Pull and collar the '28VDC PLUGS' circuit breaker located on the PL1 circuit breaker panel and install a 'Do not operate' placard.
2. Replace the '28VDC PLUGS' circuit breaker located on the PL1 circuit breaker panel, remove the 'Do not operate' placard and replace existing '120 W MAXI' placard on each on-board servicing receptacle with a '28VDC-80W' placard.
Note: DGAC AD 2003-261(A) refers.
Compliance: For Requirement 1 - As of the effective date of this Directive.
For Requirement 2 - At the next scheduled maintenance inspection but no later than 15 October 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 4 September 2003.
Background: The Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile of France has advised that connection of equipment with a power consumption greater than that available from an on-board service receptacle can cause damage to the aircraft's internal electrical wiring.
