SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Bell UH-1 Series Helicopters
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/UH-1/9 Tail Rotor Grips 8/2000
Applicability: Models UH1A, UH1B, UH1E, UH1F, UH1H, UH1L, and TH1L helicopters with aluminium tail rotor grips P/N 204-011-728-19 installed.
Requirement: Remove the following TR grips from service:
A3-66287 A3-66361 A3-66377 A3-67184
A3-66333 A3-66365 A3-67149 A3-67207
A3-66356 A3-66370 A3-67171
Note: FAA AD 90-03-10 refers.
Compliance: Before further flight after the effective date of this directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 August 2000.
Background: This directive is issued to preclude the failure of certain tail rotor blade grips and subsequent loss of control of the helicopter.
