COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Harbin Y12 Series Aeroplanes
AD/Y12/6 Control Wheel Pulley Bearing 3/2003
Applicability: Y12II aircraft with Serial Numbers (S/N) 3812 (024), 3813 (025), 3814 (026), 3816 (028), and 3817 (029).
Requirement: 1. Check the Part Number (P/N) of the control wheel pulley bearing installed is P/N 980067.
2. Replace the control wheel pulley bearings where the bearings are not P/N 980067.
Note: China CAAC AD CAD89-53-Y12.0003-27 refers.
Compliance: 1. Unless previously accomplished prior to further flight.
2. Prior to further flight.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 20 March 2003.
Background: The wrong bearing was fitted to the control wheel pulley during manufacture which could lead to control wheel buffet.
