NLG Actuator Attach Fitting 8/91
Requirement: Action in accordance with the Technical Requirements of FAA AD 91-11-09 Amdt 39-7006.
Note: Cessna SB MEB 88-4 refers.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 8 August 1991 for Australian registered aircraft.
Background: There have been overseas reports of accidents caused by the failure of the NLG actuator attach fitting. Cracking of replaced nose gear actuator attachment fittings has been reported on several of the affected aircraft. This amendment requires inspections and replacement of the nose gear actuator fitting with an improved part. Effective date required by the FAA is extended by one month.
