COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Cessna 400 Series Aeroplanes
AD/CESSNA 400/108
Amdt 1
Applicability: All Cessna 402C.
All Cessna 404. All Cessna 414A. All Cessna 421C.
Bonded Wing 11/98
Requirement: 1. Inspect for and repair corrosion, disbonds and deficient sealing between the wing skins and spars and/or ribs in accordance with Cessna Service Bulletin MEB95-11 Revision 1.
Note: This AD requires use of Cessna repair designs, but does not preclude the submission of proposed repairs with technical justification for approval by CASA.
Compliance: 1. Unless already accomplished, inspect before 2 July 1997 or 200 hours time in service after 2 January 1997, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, reinspect at the intervals defined in the Compliance section of Cessna Service Bulletin MEB95-11 Revision 1.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 October 1998. The original compliance period is unaffected.
Background: The presence of corrosion caused by moisture ingress will significantly reduce the fatigue life of the wing spar and will also have a detrimental effect on wing skin bonding.
This Amendment extends the compliance parameters to reflect the intervals specified in the Cessna Service Bulletin.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 2 January 1997.
