AD/CESSNA 650/5 Engine and Flight Data Monitoring 11/94

Applicability: Cessna 650 series aircraft fitted with AlliedSignal TFE731-3 series engines not incorporating AlliedSignal Service Bulletin TFE731-72-3509.
Requirement: 1. Amend the Limitation Section of the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) to reflect the requirements of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness Directive (AD) 94-07-03, paragraphs (a), (1), (2), (3) and (4) by inserting AFM amendment A/C650/9, and
2. calculate the data recorded in accordance with FAA AD 94-07-03, paragraph (b), (1), and
3. action in accordance with FAA AD 94-07-03, paragraph (b), (2), and
4. action in accordance with FAA AD 94-07-03, paragraph (c).
5. Compliance with the Requirements of CAO 106, AD/TFE731/25 on both engines provides a terminating action for the Requirements 1 through 4 of this Directive.
Compliance: Effective 14 September 1994; Unless previously accomplished, prior to further flight.
Background: This Directive has been issued to address reports of uncontained failure of the first stage low pressure turbine disc following failure of certain low pressure turbine nozzle A5 airseals. This Directive requires the monitoring of engine parameters, the calculation of recorded data, the monitoring of the engines for N1 rotation during start and the monitoring of the engines for rubbing noises after engine shutdown.
