Aileron and Elevator Flutter Dampers 6/89
Applicability: All model CL 600-1A11. All model CL 600-2A12. Model CL 600-2B16 with serial numbers 5001 through 5033.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Canadair Alert Wire TA 600-000-32/194 Rev 1.
Note: Canadian AD CF-86-04 R1 refers.
Compliance: 1. Dampers which have not previously been inspected in accordance with Alert Wire TA 600-000-32/194 Rev 1:
Within 100 hours time in service after 31 October 1986, and thereafter in accordance with 2 below.
2. Dampers which have been inspected in accordance with Alert Wire TA 600-000- 32/194 Rev 1:
1. Dampers P/Nos 600-75134-7 and 600-75135-3, that indicated green at the last inspection: At intervals of 200 hours time in service or 6 months, whichever occurs first.
b. Dampers P/Nos 600-75134-9 and 600-75135-5, that indicated green at the last inspection: At intervals of 300 hours time in service or 12 months, whichever occurs first.
c. Dampers P/Nos 600-75134-7 and -9, and P/Nos 600-75135-3 and -5, that indicated completely red at the last inspection: Within 100 hours time in service from the previous inspection, or 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Background: A number of aileron and elevator flutter dampers have been found to be leaking in service, which could render them unserviceable. This could permit flutter to occur in the event of the failure of any two hydraulic systems.
