SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Diamond DA40 Series Aeroplanes
AD/DA40/1 Mixture Control Cable 6/2003 TX
Applicability: DA40 aircraft serial numbers 40.006 - 40.020, 40.022 - 40.027, 40.030, 40.031,
40.038 - 40.040, 40.046, 40.047, 40.050, 40.052, 40.054, 40.055, and 40.057.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the mixture control cable for correct crimping as detailed in Diamond Aircraft Industries G.m.b.H Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) 40-012.
2. Replace any mixture control cables found to be crimped as detailed in Picture 1 of Diamond Aircraft Industries G.m.b.H Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) 40- 012 with an approved replacement.
Note: Austrian AD 112 refers.
Compliance: 1. Unless previously accomplished, prior to further flight.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 April 2003.
Background: Failure of the mixture control cable can lead to an inability to control mixture adjustment of the engine.
