COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Eurocopter SA 360 and SA 365 (Dauphin) Series Helicopters
AD/DAUPHIN/57 Engine Air Inlet Sand Filters 5/2002
Applicability: Eurocopter AS 365N, N1, N2 and N3 model helicopters incorporating CENTRISEP engine air inlet sand filters as detailed in Eurocopter Alert Service Bulletin 71.00.14.P5.
Requirement: Inspect the sand filter ejection nozzles for cracks in accordance with Eurocopter Alert Service Bulletin 71.00.14.P5.
Note: DGAC AD 2000-108-050 (A) R2 refers.
Compliance: Effective 16 May 2002; following each last flight of the day.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 May 2002.
Background: This Directive has been issued to reflect French DGAC Airworthiness Directive 2000-108-050 (A) R2. The French Directive was issued in response to reports of cracks being found in exhaust ejection nozzles that may result in the loss of a nozzle in flight.
