AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/DHC-8/62 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/DHC-8/62 Amdt 2
Flap Carriage Hook Roller Shafts 13/2000
Applicability: Model DHC-8 Series 100, 200, and 300 aircraft, serial numbers 3 through 555.
Requirement: 1. Implement a detailed visual inspection of the flap carriage hook roller shafts part number (P/N) 85750362-103 and/or P/N 85750362-105 for condition , in accordance with the inspection schedule introduced by the applicable Temporary Revision (TR) of the Airworthiness Limitations List (AWL) of the DHC-8 Maintenance Manual as detailed below:
(a) For Series 100 aircraft: PSM 1-8-7: TR AWL-75 and AWL-76 dated 14 July 2000.
(b) For Series 200 aircraft: PSM 1-82-7: TR AWL 2-19 dated 14 July 2000.
(c) For Series 300 aircraft: PSM 1-83-7: TR AWL 3-83 dated 14 July 2000.
Replace any flap carriage hook roller shafts that are determined to be cracked, before further flight.
