AD/DHC-8/7 Amdt 1
Electronic Engine Control Units 3/90
Applicability: All DHC-8 series aeroplanes as detailed in the Requirement Documents.
Requirement: 1. Incorporate modification No 8/0597 in accordance with DHC-8 SB 8-73-7 Revision E dated 14 October 1988 or later revision.
2. Incorporate modification No 8/0598 in accordance with DHC-8 SB 8-71-10 Revision B dated 14 October 1988 or later revision.
3. Incorporate modification No 8/0964 in accordance with DHC-8 SB 8-72-2 Revision A dated 14 October 1988 or later revision.
4. Incorporate modification No 8/0813 in accordance with DHC-8 SB 8-72-4 Revision A dated 14 October 1988 or later revision.
5. Incorporate modification No 8/1416 in accordance with DHC-8 SB 8-61-16 dated 15 December 1989 or later revision.
Note: Transport Canada Airworthiness Directive CF 85-06 R2 also refers.
Compliance: Prior to 10 August 1990.
Background: This AD is issued to require incorporation of five modifications which, when incorporated will minimize the danger of lightning transient-induced damage to the electronic engine control units. Amendment 1 to this AD is issued to include a requirement to incorporate an additional modification (Requirement 5) as advised by Boeing Canada de Havilland Division.
