SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Bombardier (Boeing Canada/De Havilland) DHC-8 Series Aeroplanes
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/DHC-8/71 Internal Baggage Compartment Door 11/2000
Applicability: Models 311, 314, and 315 aircraft, serial numbers 408, 438, 442, 443, 451, 458, 462,
466, 467, 474, 481, 483, 485, 487, 489, 491, 493, 495, 499, 503, and 505.
Requirement: Replace baggage door stops in accordance with Bombardier Service Bulletin 8-25- 306 which provides instructions for the incorporation of ModSum 8Q100899.
Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2000-22 refers.
Compliance: Before 15 March 2001, unless already accomplished.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 2 November 2000.

Background: Distorted door stops have been found on the baggage bulkhead which prevented the internal baggage door from latching and/or caused the door to jam in the closed position. Access to the baggage compartment during flight is essential for fire fighting.
