Applicability: All models.
Fuselage Structure Horizontal Stabiliser Front Attachment
5/95
Requirement: 1. For aircraft S/No's 110001 to 110386, 110388 to 110397, 110399 to 110401,
110404 to 110408, 110410 to 110412, 110414, 110415 and 110421, modify the
fuselage structure near the Horizontal Stabiliser front attachment points in accordance with Part II of Embraer Service Bulletin 110-53-0019 Revision 6.
Note: Aircraft S/N 110387, 110398, 110402, 110403, 110409, 110413, 110416 to
110420, 110422 and subsequent have a modification equivalent to Requirement 1 incorporated in production.
2. For all aircraft, visually inspect the internal fuselage structure near the Horizontal Stabiliser front attachment fitting for looseness, loose fasteners and cracks. Inspect in accordance with Part 1 of Embraer Service Bulletin 110-53-0019 Revision 6.
Note: Brazilian AD 83-03-03 R6 refers.
Compliance: 1. Modify in accordance with Requirement 1 before 1000 hours time in service after 30 April 1985 or before 27 June 1995, whichever occurs first.
2. For aircraft S/N 110001 to 110386, 110388 to 110397, 110399 to 110401, 110404
to 110408, 110410 to 110412, 110414, 110415 and 110421, initially inspect in accordance with Requirement 2 before 3600 hours time in service after installing the Requirement 1 modification, or before 100 hours time in service after 27 April 1995, whichever occurs later.
For all other aircraft, initially inspect in accordance with Requirement 2 at the next 6C check after 27 April 1995.
Re-inspect all aircraft at each subsequent 6C check. This Amendment is effective 27 April 1995.
Background: Reports have been received of cracks and loose rivets in the aft fuselage structure near the horizontal stabiliser front attachment. This Amendment references the latest Brazilian AD and Embraer Service Bulletin Revision.
The aircraft applicability is also clarified. A final calendar date has been added to the compliance for the modification. The inspection requirement for unmodified aircraft has been deleted since they have to be modified before two months have elapsed after the issue date of this Amendment.
