COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 106 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Engines - General
AD/ENG/7 Replacement of Life Limited Turbine Engine Components
Applicability: All aircraft turbine engines.
1/95
Requirement: 1. Unless otherwise directed by the Authority, replace life limited turbine engine components in accordance with the latest issue of the applicable engine manufacturer's service document that details such life limits.
2. Record the operating hours since new and the operating cycles since new for each life limited component in accordance with the applicable engine manufacturer's document that details component life limits.
Note: Following publication of this Directive, all Directives specific to an engine type/model that reflect this requirement will ultimately be cancelled.
Compliance: Effective 5 January 1995.
Background: This Directive is issued to provide a single document to regulate engine component lives for both existing and future engine types. Before the issue of this Directive, retirement of life limited engine components was mandated by an individual Directive for each engine type and each of these required frequent amendment as engine service history developed and modification status changed.
