Applicability: All Models EA-300 aircraft.
Rudder Cable 4/93 TX
Requirement: Inspect the rudder control cables for correctly swaged Nicopress type sleeves at each end of the cable by using the appropriate "go, no-go" gauge. If a compressed sleeve does not conform to the above inspection, the cable assembly shall be replaced.
Note: EXTRA Mandatory SB 300-1-93 refers.
Compliance: Prior to further flight after 12 February 1993.
Background: A report has been received of an incident in which a loss of rudder control was implicated in an accident. Although still under investigation, it was reported that the cable had pulled through an incorrectly swaged sleeve. Amendment 1 is issued in response to the requirements of EXTRA Service Bulletin 300-1-93.
