COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Extra EA-300 Series Aeroplanes
AD/EXTRA/4 Air Inlet Screen 6/95
Applicability: EA-300, EA-300/S aircraft detailed by serial number in Extra EA-300 Service Bulletin No. 300-5-94.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Extra EA-300 Service Bulletin No. 300-5-94.
Note: LBA Airworthiness Directive 95-125 Extra refers.
Compliance: Effective 25 May 1995: At next annual inspection or within 100 hours time in service, whichever occurs first.
Background: This Directive has been issued to require the installation of an air inlet screen. The requirement reflects advice that provision of an air inlet screen will reduce the exposure of the engine to any particles entering the injector throat. Especially in the case of a bird strike.
