COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Fokker F100 (F28 Mk 100) Series Aeroplanes
AD/F100/29 Cabin Decompression Panels 4/99
Applicability: F.28 Mk.0100, serial numbers 11244 through 11504, 11506, 11507, 11509, 11512 through 11515, 11517, 11519, 11520, 11522, 11523 and 11527.
Requirement: Modify the aircraft by installing additional decompression panels in accordance with the applicable Appendix to Fokker Service Bulletin (SB) F100-25-082 Revision 1.
Modify the affected aircraft equipped with an aft Service/Emergency door by installing additional decompression panels in the Aft Cabin Wardrobe/Stowage area in accordance with Fokker SB F100-25-083.
Note: RLD BLA 1998-065(A) refers.
Compliance: Prior to 1 August, 2000.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 22 April 1999.
Background: Sufficient blow-out panels are required to be installed to reduce the pressure differential over the cabin floor in case of sudden cargo compartment decompression. It has been established that, with the number of decompression panels currently installed in the cabin compartment of F.28 Mk.0100 aircraft, compliance with JAR 25.365(e) cannot satisfactorily be demonstrated for the rear cabin area.
