SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Fokker F100 (F28 Mk 100) Series Aeroplanes
AD/F100/49 Elevator Tension Regulator 9/2002
Applicability: Model F.28 Mk. 0100 and Mk. 0070 aircraft, equipped with Elevator Tension Regulator Assemblies having part numbers D78179-405, -407, -409, -411, and -413.
Requirement: Modify or replace Elevator Tension Regulators in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Fokker Service Bulletin F100-27-081 and Component Service Bulletin D78179-27-017, both dated 1 January 2002.
Note: Netherlands CAA AD 2002-058 refers.
Compliance: Before 1 December 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 5 September 2002.
Background: A report was received of an occurrence during terminal departure pushback, where the elevators of a Fokker 70 aircraft could not be moved through the full range of deflection. Investigation revealed that one of the three bolts that attach the adjuster bracket to the elevator tension regulator, had come loose. This Directive requires modification of the installed tension regulator or replacement with a modified tension regulator.
