Fokker F100 (F28 Mk 100) Series Aeroplanes
AD/F100/58 Engine- Operating Limits and Warnings 2/2003
Applicability: All Fokker 100 (F28 Mk 100) Series aeroplanes with Rolls Royce Tay 650-15 engines installed.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Netherlands AD ( BLA) 2002-119.
Note: Netherlands AD (BLA). 2002-119 refers.
Compliance: As detailed in the requirement document with a revised effective date of 20 February 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 20 February 2003.
Background: Rolls Royce TAY engine as installed in Fokker 100 aircraft has low fan flutter margin and can result in fan blade failures when operated under certain speed ranges. This directive mandates installation of modified warning systems and introduces new engine operating limits and maintenance requirements. These are in addition to those mandated per AD/TAY/2 ( BLA 1997-119/2) and AD/F100/50 (BLA 2002-063).
Neville James Probert
Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 9 January 2003
The above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 29 January 2003.
