AD/F27/115 Amdt 1
Wing Structure - Skin Splice WS 7915 12/88 DM
Applicability: All models S/Nos 10346 to 10692 excepting 10685 and 10688, also S/Nos 10105 to 10345 if fitted with outerwing S/No 246 or subsequent.
Requirement: 1. Restrict Vb for:
1. MTOW 14969 kg (33000 lb) and greater to 165 knots IAS.
b. MTOW below 14969 kg (33000 lb), down to 13600 kg (30000 lb); Vb decreases linearly with aircraft MTOW from 165 knots IAS to 161 knots IAS.
2. Inspect the splice components at Wing Station 7915 in accordance with Fokker SB F27/57-63 Part 1.
3. Modify any unsatisfactory splice components in accordance with Fokker SB F27/57-63 Part 2.
Note 1: Speed restrictions may be achieved by placing placards adjacent to ASI's and including a Temporary Change into the Flight Manual.
Flight Manual amendment is available from the appropriate regional office of the Authority.
Note 2: RLD AD 88-55 issue 3 refers.
Compliance: 1. Before further flight after 30 September 1988.
2. Before 01 March 1989.
3. Before 01 September 1989.
Background: The upper and lower wing skin panels at Wing Station 7915 may have been subject to incorrect heat treatment and consequently are below design strength. Amendment 1 increases the Applicability and specifies terminating action.
