AD/F28/56 Instrument Panel Lights Ballast Transformers 9/88
Applicability: All models S/No's 11003 to 11231 inclusive, 11991 and 11992.
Requirement: Relocate instrument panel light ballast transformers in accordance with Fokker Service Bulletin F28/33-34 dated 1 June 1988 or later.
Note: RLD AD 88-31 also refer.
Compliance: Prior to 8 March 1989.
Background: The instrument panel lighting ballast transformers are prone to overheating and subsequent failure with the emission of smoke in front of the pilots. To prevent this, the transformers are moved to the LH cockpit sidewall to improve ventilation.
