COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Fokker F50 (F27 Mk 50) Series Aeroplanes
AD/F50/63 Control Panel Lighting Plates 1/94
Applicability: Model F27 Mk 050 serial numbers 20103 to 20231 inclusive if equipped with either Electrical Power Control Panels part numbers F7941-011-407, -413, -425, -435 and W7981-011-401, -403, all serial numbers or Fuel Control Panels part numbers F7941- 005-403, -407, -409, -413, -415 and W7981-005-401, all serial numbers.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Fokker Service Bulletin F50-33-030 dated 15 September 1993.
Note: RLD AD 93-141 (A) dated 1 November 1993 refers.
Compliance: Prior to 1 January 1995.
Background: Operators have reported that EL-Products Lighting Plates part number 95-1847-1 (installed on Electrical Power Control Panels) and part number 95-1838-1 and -3 (installed on Fuel Control Panels) may suffer from material stress. These stresses have caused internal short circuits, which in turn resulted in burned spots on the lighting panels and in some cases, smoke and noxious fumes were evident in the cockpit. Compliance with this Directive will decrease the likelihood of electrical short circuits in the Lighting Plates occurring.
