AD/FSM/26 Air Metering Stop Pin P/N 62-226 Fitted to MA4-5, MA-5 and MA-6 Series Carburettors

Applicability: Facet Aerospace (Marvel Schebler) MA4-5, MA-5 and MA-6 series carburettors manufactured after April 1984 whose part number and serial numbers are listed in the Requirement Document.
Note: These carburettors may be used on but not limited to Lycoming 0-360, 0-540, VO-540 and TVO-435 series engines; Teledyne Continental 0-470 series engines and Pezetel (Franklin) model 6A-350 series engines).
Requirement: Modify affected carburettors in accordance with Facet Aerospace products service bulletin A1-88 dated August 1988.
Note: FAA AD 89-04-02 Amdt 39-6109 refers.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished prior to installation, at the next removal or prior to achieving 200 operating hours after 18 May 1989 whichever is the sooner.
Background: This directive is issued to prevent a potential risk to the safety of flight due to the possibility of the engine throttle becoming jammed inside the carburettor if the air metering stop pin becomes loose.
