COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Compliance: Within 150 flight hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 13 July 2000.
Background: The United States Federal Aviation Administration has advised of an incident of an in-flight engine fire on a Model G-IV series aeroplane due to chafing of the power feeder cable assembly of an engine alternator. This Directive introduces actions intended to prevent interference and chafing between the alternator power feeder cables and adjacent structure, which could result in an electrical short circuit and consequent fire ignition source in the engine compartment.
