Engine Ground Running 11/91 DM
Applicability: Model N22 and N24 series.
Requirement: Remove placard installed in accordance with original issue of this Directive. Install in a suitable position in full view of the pilot a placard stating:-
1. Engine ground running is to be conducted with flaps set at 0o.
2. During engine ground running the control column should be held firmly against the forward horizontal stabiliser control stops. The horizontal stabiliser gust lock should not be fitted during ground runs.
Note: Nomad ASB ANMB-55-26 Revision 4 refers.
Compliance: Prior to exceeding 25 hours time in service after 2 October 1991.
Background: The manufacturer has revised the recommended ground running practices to minimise loads on both the horizontal stabiliser and flaps.
