COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Eurocopter SA341 and SA342 (Gazelle) Series Helicopters
AD/GAZELLE/29 Rotating Star 8/2004 DM
Applicability: Model SA 341 G helicopters equipped with rotating star, part number 341A31.4116.21.
Requirement: Retire the rotating star from service as specified in Eurocopter Master Servicing Recommendations (MSR) Chapter 5.99, Revision 15, dated 08/2003.
Note: DGAC AD F-2004-070 refers.
Compliance: Upon the accumulation of 12,000 flight hours.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 9 June 2004.
Background: The DGAC requires mandatory retirement of the rotating star at the new service life limit time specified in the Requirement document.
