Cancellation of the Reduction of the Never Exceed Speed
4/98
Applicability: Models G115C, G115C2, G115D, G115D2, all serial numbers. Requirement: Action in accordance with Grob Service Bulletin 1078-69.
Note: LBA AD 96-270/3 refers.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished, before the next flight after 26 March 1998 .
This amendment becomes effective on 26 March 1998.
Background: The investigation of an incident of buffeting when an aircraft approached the never exceed speed, identified a vibration in the aircraft structure that had originated at the engine shock mounts as the cause.
Amendment 1 required certain inspections to clear aircraft for aerobatic manoeuvres while maintaining the airspeed limitation of the previous issue of this Directive.
Amendment 2 is issued in response to a revision of the related LBA AD which cancels the previously required airspeed limitation following successful completion of the buffeting investigation.
Amendment 1 of this airworthiness directive became effective on 9 October 1997.
The original issue of this airworthiness directive became effective on 14 February 1996.
