Hiller UH-12 Series Helicopters
AD/HILLER 12/18 Amdt 6
Applicability: All models.
Retirement Life - Critical Components 3/84
Requirement: As applicable to each helicopter model, all components listed in the following references shall be retired from service at or before the time quoted therein.
1. For models UH-12, UH-12A, UH-12B and UH-12C: Table II Mandatory Component Replacement Schedule, Section III of the models UH-12A, UH-12B and UH-12C Inspection Guide dated September 1959 revised 1 February 1973.
2. For models UH-12E: Table I Mandatory Component Replacement Schedule, Section III of the Inspection Guide Models UH-12E/ UH-12E4 Series Helicopters dated April 1968 revised 21 December 1981.
3. For models UH-12E series helicopters modified in accordance with US FAA STC SH178WE (Soloy Turbine Conversion): Table I Mandatory Component Replacement Schedule, Section III of the Soloy/Hiller UH-12D/E Turbine Inspection Guide dated December 1979 incorporating Revision 3 dated June 1982.
4. For all models, retirement of main rotor blades P/N 2253- 1101-04 with S/Nos. 4261 and subsequent shall be in accordance with Hiller Aviation SB UH-12 Series No. 51-5.
Note: Operators of aircraft engaged in operations which involve unusual manoeuvres, such as agricultural, or cattle mustering or operations where consistently more than four rotor full stop flights per hour are achieved must consult the manufacturer giving full details including previous history of all operations for possible life revision and must advise the Department accordingly. For the purposes of notification two flights concluding with rotors turning while on the ground and the engine at idle or greater power setting shall be counted as equivalent to one flight with rotors to a full stop.
