AD/IAI-A/19 Towing Warning Placard 4/2004 DM
Applicability: Models 1125 Astra and Astra SPX aircraft, serial numbers 004 through 110. Requirement: Install two Warning Placards on the Nose Landing Gear Doors in accordance with Gulfstream Aerospace Service Bulletin No. 1125-11-181 Revision 1.
Note: Israel CAA AD 32-03-12-09 refers.
Compliance: Within 50 flight hours after 10 March 2004, unless already accomplished.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 March 2004.
Background: Reports were received of damage to the nose landing gear steering brackets. Investigation revealed the likely cause for failures of the steering brackets as excessive torsional forces applied to the steering assembly during towing operation of the aircraft with torque links connected. AD/IAI-A/18 currently requires on-going inspections of the steering brackets for damage.
