Israel Aircraft Industries 1123 and 1124 (Westwind) Series Aeroplanes
AD/IAI-W/1 Maximum Operating Speed - Limitation 1/80
Applicability: All models 1123 and 1124 with S/Nos. 94 to 269.
Requirement: Install in clear view of the pilot a placard as follows, as applicable to model type:
1. For model 1123:
MAXIMUM OPERATING SPEED LIMIT (VMO/MMO) WITH OR WITHOUT FUEL IN TIP TANKS:
WITH AUTOPILOT ENGAGED AND WITHOUT FUEL IN TIP TANKS:
2. For model 1124:
MAXIMUM OPERATING SPEED LIMIT (VMO/MMO) WITH AUTOPILOT DISENGAGED:
BELOW 22500 FT 314 KTS IAS ABOVE 22500 FT 0.710 M.
BELOW 26000 FT 314 KTS IAS ABOVE 26000 FT 0.765 M.
BELOW 22500 FT 314 KTS IAS ABOVE 22500 FT 0.710 M.
WITH AUTOPILOT ENGAGED: BELOW 26000 FT 314 KTS IAS ABOVE 26000 FT 0.765 M.
Compliance: Within 10 hours time in service after 5 December 1979, placard to remain in place until aeroplane is modified in accordance with SB No. WW23 or SB No. WW24-17 as applicable and Israel CAA AD No. 1007.
Background: A discrepancy in the pattern of rivets installed in the wing root assembly and in the total strength assumption has been noted by the manufacturer.
