COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES British Aerospace BAe 3100 (Jetstream) Series Aeroplanes AD/JETSTREAM/58 Amdt 1 Windscreen 4/94 Applicability: All Jetstream Series 3100 and Series 3200 aircraft; which have left and right windscreens with part numbers as detailed in Pilkington Aerospace Ltd. Service Bulletin 037-56-1001. Requirement: Action in accordance with BAe Mandatory Service Bulletin 56-JA 920843 Revision 1. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document, with the initial inspection requirement, unless already accomplished, within 300 hours time in service after 31 March 1994. Background: Cracking of the PVB interlayer on the left and right windscreens has been reported. If the cracking exceeds certain limits, failure of the windscreen could occur during pressurisation or in the event of a bird-strike. Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the Requirement Document which expands applicability to all aircraft, and introduces repetitive inspections to aircraft with new type windscreens installed.
