AD/JETSTREAM/65 Wing - Main Landing Gear Bay Doublers 10/94
Applicability: Jetstream 3200 series aircraft up to and including constructor's number 969.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the joggled doubler at the forward edge of the left and right hand main landing gear bays in accordance with Part 1 of British Aerospace SB 57-A- JA920540.
2. Install new doublers in accordance with Part 2 or Part 3 (depending on modification status) of British Aerospace SB 57-A-JA920540.
Compliance: 1. Initially inspect pre mod JM 8122 aircraft before 4000 flying hours or within 200 flying hours from 15 September 1994 whichever occurs last.
Reinspect at 600 flying hour intervals until modified in accordance with Requirement para 2.
2. Modify pre mod JM 8122 and JM 8195 aircraft before 9000 flying hours.
Modification in accordance with British Aerospace SB 57-A-JA920540 cancels the inspection requirement of this AD.
Background: Cracks were experienced during fatigue testing, the inspection is required to detect cracking and the modification will improve the fatigue life of the structure.
