Autopilot Trim Relays 8/97
Applicability: All Jetstream Series 3100 aeroplanes equipped with an autopilot installed under Jetstream Aircraft Ltd Modifications JK3027, 3243, 3352 or 3483.
Requirement: Modify the autopilot system, by the installation of two additional relays and associated wiring changes, in accordance with Jetstream Aircraft Ltd Mandatory Service Bulletin 22-JK 2628 Revision 2 dated 21 October 1996.
Note: This Service Bulletin has been classified as Mandatory by the CAA(UK).
Compliance: Prior to 31 October 1997, unless previously accomplished.
This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 17 July 1997.
Background: This amendment corrects a typographical error identifying the applicable modifications. The Prefix "JM" has been amended to read "JK'.
British Aerospace, Civil Aircraft Division, Notice to Operators JS22/3 issued on
13 February 1986 and Service Bulletin 22-JA 860214 dated 6 February 1987, together with a subsequent revision to the Maintenance Schedule, introduced an 800 hour life limit on the pitch up and pitch down relays in the autopilot system.
Following compliance with this Directive, the 800 hour life limit will no longer apply. The original issue of this airworthiness directive became effective on
30 January 1997.
