COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/JETSTREAM/76 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Windshield Wipers 8/2003

Applicability: All Jetstream Series 3100 and Series 3200 aircraft.

Requirement: Action in accordance with BAE Systems Mandatory Service Bulletin 30-JA 950641 Revision 5.

Note: UK CAA AD 006-08-96 refers.

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document.

This Amendment becomes effective on 7 August 2003.

Background: A report was received of an occurrence where the windshield wiper arm detached in flight, and resulted in damage to a propeller and the fuselage. The original issue of this Directive required an initial replacement and then a service life for both the wiper arm and attachment bolt.

Amendment 1 is issued to introduce the latest revision of the Requirement document, which introduces terminating action for Part 1.
