This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 17 June 1999.
Background: Incidents have been reported where cracking has occurred at the base of the thread in the steering jack piston rod Part No. 618212. Incorrect assembly or inadequate lubrication of the steering jack pivot points can cause unusually high operational loads. This could lead to a breakdown of the steering jack piston rod. This Directive introduces a one off inspection for correct assembly and lubrication of the steering jack pivot points.
