SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
British Aerospace BAe 3100 (Jetstream) Series Aeroplanes
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/JETSTREAM/89 Main Landing Gear Radius Rod 8/2000
Applicability: All Jetstream 3100 and 3200 Series aircraft with radius rod part numbers 1847 and 1862, all suffixes, installed.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with BAe Systems Mandatory Service Bulletin 32-JA 991140.
Note: UK CAA AD 002-04-2000 refers.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 August 2000.
Background: The manufacturer received reports of cracks in main landing gear radius rods on in- service aircraft. In one case, total failure of the radius rod had occurred.
