Low Pressure Turbine Anti-Rotation Pins 5/88 TX
Applicability: JT9D-3A,-7,-7H,-7AH,-7A,-7A(SP),-7F,-7J,-20 engines not fully incorporating PWA SB 5292.
Requirement: 1. Inspect pre-SB 5292, low pressure turbine vane anti-rotation pins in accordance with the requirements of PWA SB 5735, or as agreed by the Secretary.
2. Replace pre-SB 5292, low pressure turbine vane anti-rotation pins in accordance with the requirements of PWA SB 5292 Rev. 4.
Compliance: 1. In accordance with the Requirement document or as agreed by the Secretary.
2. At the next removal of the low pressure turbine shaft from the low pressure turbine case and vane assembly but not later than 31 December 1989.
Background: This Directive has been amended to include in the applicable engine models, all JT9D models listed in PWA SB 5292 and 5735. The amendment includes the JT9D-3A model previously removed from the Australian Register.
