Gates Learjet 35 and 36 Series Aeroplanes
AD/LEARJET 35/14 Amdt 1
Tailcone Service Area - Inspection 12/80
Applicability: All models 35 & 36 not incorporating Mod. Kit No. AMK 80-7.
Requirement: Immediately after the engines are shut down, open the tailcone service area access cover and accomplish the following, using a flashlight or supplemental light as necessary:
1. Check the motive flow valves for leaks or stains indicating leaks.
2. Check all vents and drains to ensure that they are clean and free from obstruction.
3. Any leaking motive flow valve must be replaced with a new or factory rebuilt valve prior to further flight.
4. Secure access cover.
Note 1: This inspection may be performed and certified by the pilot in command. Note 2: FAA AD 80-19-09, Amdt. 39-3913 refers. Compliance: After every flight until modified to AMK 80-7.
Background: Undetected leakage of flammable fluids in the tailcone service area may, when combined with a source or ignition, result in fire or explosion. Incorporation of modification kit AMK 80-7 will eliminate the requirement for post-flight inspection of this area.
