SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Walter Turbine Engines - M601 Series
AD/M601/2 Combustion Chamber Inner Liner 7/2003
Applicability: Walter M601 series engines as listed in Appendix 1 of Walter a.s Service Bulletins (S/B) A M601D/33a, A M601D-1/7a, A M601D-11NZ/7a, A M601E/29a, A M601E-
21/7a.
Requirement: Replace the engine combustion chamber inner liner part number M601-264.7 in accordance with Walter a.s Service Bulletins (S/B) A M601D/33a, A M601D-1/7a, A M601D-11NZ/7a, A M601E/29a, A M601E-21/7a.
Note: Czech AD CAA-AD-T-031/2003 refers.
Compliance: Prior to 31 December 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 July 2003.
Background: During manufacture certain welding procedures were not adhered to. This could lead to failure of the liner.
