AD/MU-2/39 Fitment of Manual Ignition Switches 4/87
Applicability: Models MU-2B -10, -15, -20, -25, -26, -26A, -30 -35, -36, -36A, -40 and -60.
Requirement: Embody manual ignition switches in accordance with;
For Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd aircraft - MHI SR 066B dated 13 November 1986, and For Mitsubishi Aircraft International Inc. aircraft - MAI SR 040/74-001 Revision A dated 11 December 1986.
Note 1. FAA AD 86-26-02 Amdt 39-5498 refers.
Note 2. An Australian Flight Manual amendment is required for all applicable aircraft fitted with manual ignition switches.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished. Prior to operations after 30 June 1987.
Background: This Directive provides a continuous ignition selection capability to prevent engine flameouts when operating in, or departing from, an icing environment and to rapidly restore power subsequent to an ice induced flameout.
