AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 Series Aeroplanes AD/CIRRUS/5 Fuel Line Chafing Damage 6/2006 DM
Applicability: Model SR20 and SR22 aeroplanes with serial numbers as follows: Model Serial Numbers
SR20 1005 through 1581 inclusive SR22 0002 through 1643 and 1645 through 1662 Requirement: 1. Inspect the fuel line and wire harness for any chafing damage in accordance with Cirrus Design Corporation Service Bulletin SB 2X-28-04 R1, Issued: 1 November 2005, Revised: 14 November 2005. 2. If, as a result of the Requirement 1 inspection, any chafing damage is found carry out the following in accordance with SB 2X-28-04 R1: a. Replace any damaged fuel line; and b. Repair any damaged wires or sheathing of the wire harness. 3. Install the following in accordance with SB 2X-28-04 R1: a. Forward loop clamp,
