AD/LYC/113 Amdt 2 - ECi Cylinder Assemblies (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/LYC/113 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Lycoming Piston Engines AD/LYC/113 Amdt 2 ECi Cylinder Assemblies 8/2006

Applicability: Lycoming Engines (formerly Textron Lycoming) models 320, 360, and 540 series, parallel valve, reciprocating engines that are:

A. specified in Table 1 of FAA AD 2006-12-07; and

B. fitted with Engine Components Inc. (ECi) cylinder assemblies, part number (P/N) AEL65102 series "Classic Cast", having casting head markings EC 65099-REV-1; and

C. with serial numbers (SNs) 1 through 9879 installed. (SN may have an "L" prefix for a long reach spark plug).

Note 1: The set of numbers appearing on the cylinder, below and to the left of the SN, in the form of "12345-67" is not used for determining applicability. Requirement: Engines Not Repaired or Overhauled Since New

If your engine has not been overhauled or had any major repair since new, no further action is required.

Engines Overhauled or Repaired Since New

1. If your engine was overhauled or repaired since new, determine if ECi cylinder assemblies, P/N AEL65102 series "Classic Cast", having casting head markings EC 65099-REV-1 and SNs 1 through 9879 (SN may have an "L" prefix for a long reach spark plug) are installed on your engine, as follows:
