AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/SA 315/2 Free-Wheel Inspections following 12/2006
Main Rotor Impact
Applicability: EUROCOPTER SA 315 B (LAMA) helicopters on which the main rotor has hit an obstacle while rotating.
Requirement: Carry out the actions detailed in EUROCOPTER Telex Service N° 01.27 dated
22 April 1992 or later DGAC approved revision.
Note: DGAC AD 92-130-033(B) dated 10 June 1992 refers.
Compliance: Before further flight after any time the main rotor hits an obstacle.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 November 2006.
Background: The actions detailed in this AD are intended to prevent failure of the freewheel following the main rotor hitting an obstacle.
