AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 407 Series Helicopters AD/BELL 407/29 Horizontal Stabiliser Skin at the 7/2007 DM Tailboom Attachment Inserts
Applicability: Model 407 helicopters. Requirement: 1. Verify the serial number of the horizontal stabiliser in accordance with Part I of BHTC Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) 407-06-72 original issue, or later Transport Canada approved revision.
If the horizontal stabiliser installed on the helicopter has a serial number listed below, accomplish Requirement 2.
Affected Serial Numbers:
BP725, -750, -751, -752, -753, -756, -758, -760, -765, -769, -770, -771, -775, -776, -778, -779, -780, -781, -785, -787, -788, -789, -790, -795, -796, -797, -800, -801, -802, -803, -805, -829.
2. Inspect the affected parts in accordance with Part II of ASB 407-06-72 original issue, or later Transport Canada approved revision.
If damaged parts are detected during any inspection, replace the parts before further flight. If parts are not damaged, repeat the inspection.
