AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Agusta A119 Series Helicopters AD/A119/9 Cargo Hook Installation 8/2007 DM
Applicability: Model A119 helicopter, equipped with a single or double cargo hook installation with the following part numbers; and which incorporate the hook part number 528-010-01:
Single 109-0810-31-139;
Double 109-0811-75-115. Requirement: Perform an inspection of the cargo hook lever part number 232-028-00 in accordance with Agusta Alert Service Bulletin 119-21.
If cracking is found the use of the cargo hook is prohibited.

This Directive must be inserted in the pertinent Appendices/Supplements of the RFM. Compliance: Before the next cargo hook operation after 14 June 2007, but at the latest by 31 August 2007. Thereafter before each single operation of the cargo hook. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 14 June 2007. Background: The EASA received several reports of cracking of the lever part number 232-028-00 of the cargo hook.
