AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Gulfstream (Grumman) G1159 and G-IV Series Aeroplanes AD/G1159/48 Roll Axis Hardover Protection System 8/2007
Applicability: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation model/series aeroplanes as follows: Mode/Series Serial Numbers
GV 674 through 693 inclusive GV-SP 5001 through 5072 inclusive Requirement: 1. If not previously accomplished, repair the force link assembly wire harness by doing all actions specified in the Accomplishment Instructions of the applicable service information identified in Table 1 of this Directive. Table 1 Model Service Information GV-SP series Gulfstream G500 Customer Bulletin 14, dated 13 June 2005 GV-SP series Gulfstream G550 Customer Bulletin 14, dated 23 June 2005 GV series Gulfstream GV Customer Bulletin 135, dated 23 June 2005 Note 1: The Gulfstream customer bulletins identified in Table 1 of this Directive include Vought Service Bulletin SB-VAIGV/GVSP-27-PG0098, dated 9 May 2005, as an additional source of service information for the repair. 2. If, during the Requirement 1 repair, any nick or other damage is found on or to the environmental seal around the installed wires (see paragraph 2.B.(2)c)7. or 2.C.(2)c)7. of SB-VAIGV/GVSP-27-PG0098), repair using a method approved by the Manager, Atlanta Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). For a repair method to be approved by the Manager, Atlanta ACO, as required by this paragraph, the Manager's approval letter must specifically refer to FAA AD 2006-18-13. Note 2: For information regarding a repair method approved by the Manager, Atlanta ACO contact your area Gulfstream Field Service Representative. Note 3: FAA AD 2006-18-13 Amdt 39-14752 refers.
