AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Agusta A109 Series Helicopters AD/A109/59 Overhead Panel Circuit Breakers 9/2007
Applicability: A109LUH helicopters with serial numbers 13752 through 13759 inclusive and 13761. Requirement: Replace the 'OVHD CSL' and 'EXT NORM' circuit breakers in accordance with Agusta Alert Bollettino Tecnico 109L-005 dated 16 May 2007. Note: ENAC AD 2007-179 refers. Compliance: Within 10 hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 August 2007. Background: The Italian Ente Nazioale per L'Aviazione Civile (ENAC) has advised that a design verification conducted by Agusta revealed that the 'OVHD CSL' and 'EXT NORM' circuit breakers with incorrect ratings had been inadvertently installed. This Directive requires replacement of the circuit breakers with corrected rated breakers.
