AD/Z-242L/3 Amdt 2 - Airworthiness and Operating Limitations (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/Z-242L/3 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Moravan Zlin Z-242L Series Aeroplanes AD/Z-242L/3 Amdt 2 Airworthiness and Operating Limitations 10/2007 DM

Applicability: Model Z 242L aircraft, all serial numbers, without the wing reinforcement modification incorporated. Requirement: 1. For aircraft that have accumulated more than 190 flight hours in Aerobatic plus Utility category:

a. Modify the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) to introduce prohibition of operations under the Aerobatic and Utility categories and to introduce the pre-flight inspection of the upper wing bolts of the airframe/wing attachment in accordance with paragraph 4.4 of Moravan Mandatory Service Bulletin Z 242L/51a original issue, or later EASA approved revision.

b. Install a placard in the cockpit in full view of the pilot, without risk of being inadvertently removed or hidden, to introduce the following information:

AEROBATIC & UTILITY FLIGHTS PROHIBITED

Note 1: Inserting a copy of this Directive into the AFM is considered as acceptable compliance with Requirement 1.a. of this Directive.
