AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Cessna 680 (Citation Sovereign) Series Aeroplanes AD/CESSNA 680/1 Wire Bundle Routing 3/2008 DM
Applicability: Cessna Model 680 aeroplanes serial number -0001 through -0152 inclusive and serial numbers -0157 and -0158. Requirement: 1. Do a general visual inspection of the routing of the aft fairing wire bundle assembly for adequate separation between the wiring and the hydraulic line, and do a general visual inspection for chafing or damage of the wire bundle assembly and for damage to the hydraulic line specified in the Accomplishment Instructions of Cessna Alert Service Letter (ASL) 680-24-02, dated 1 October 2007.
2. Carry out all applicable corrective actions in accordance with ASL680-24-02.
Later revisions of the above ASL, approved by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Alternate Method of Compliance (AMOC) to FAA AD 2007-26-16, are considered acceptable for compliance with the equivalent Requirements of this Directive.
Note 1: For the purposes of this AD, a general visual inspection is: ''A visual examination of an interior or exterior area, installation, or assembly to detect obvious damage, failure, or irregularity. This level of inspection is made from within touching distance unless otherwise specified. A mirror may be necessary to ensure visual access to all surfaces in the inspection area. This level of inspection is made under normally available lighting conditions such as daylight, hangar lighting, flashlight, or droplight and may require removal or opening of access panels or doors. Stands, ladders, or platforms may be required to gain proximity to the area being checked.''
